A plug-in upgrade to the electronic advance used on late-model Harleys, this microcomputer-controlled unit delivers extremely accurate management of the ignition process across the rev range.

PC programmability lets riders tailor advance curves and rev limiting to an engine’s specific needs; four built-in advance curves address applications from stock to highly modified motors, and four independent rev limits span 6000 to 7500 rpm.

Program via PC to define wide-open and part-throttle curves, rev limits, dead-cranking revs and rear-cylinder offset for precise, application-specific timing.

The system provides a separate tach output for clean tachometer operation during rev limiting and when operating in staggered or paired firing configurations.

A diagnostic LED on the back of the control aids troubleshooting and static timing setup.

Offers a quick curve that simulates a mechanical advancer for hot-rod applications, plus an option for vacuum advance compensation via a VOES switch and a retard mode that provides 5°, 7° or 10° retard when the retard input is activated.

Important: use carbon fiber–type suppression spark plug wires to reduce radio-frequency interference; copper wires may cause malfunction due to electrical noise. Not compatible with fuel-injected models. HDE systems are not compatible with Dyna "S" systems; use HD1/HD2 systems only.
