Direct replacement for the Cruise Drive Harley-Davidson factory six-speed transmission, with an added seventh gear to improve highway cruising and overall ratio management.
The seventh gear enables the motorcycle to make fuller use of torque and power from the 96 ci, 103 ci and 110 ci motors through optimized gear transitions.
Unlike the stock mainshaft that carries multiple gears, this lightweight mainshaft uses a compact first gear to minimize shift clunk and smooth transitions between ratios.
A shortened first gear and tighter engagement of the remaining gears provide smooth, continuous acceleration from first through fourth gear for a more powerful ride.
Shift smoothness is achieved with a new linear roller ball detent integrated into the supplied billet top cover.
Comes ready to install with no case modifications, no shimming of the gear set, and no adjustments required.
The kit includes the added main drive gear as well as the main drive bearing and seal to replace the original sixth main, plus a polished bearing door, door gasket, side cover gasket, top cover gasket and a self-adhesive side cover emblem.
The bearing door is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and uses wider bearings with a retainer plate instead of stock snap rings; door bearings are 28% wider than stock.
Includes ARP 12-point hardware for door, top cover and side cover, plus a replacement recal box and leads.
Reuses the stock shifter pawl and is made in the USA.
