🔧 The 509G camshaft kit bolts in to 88 ci engines with stock compression ratios and removes timing chain lash to improve valve timing accuracy.
Reversing the rear cam's direction of rotation increases operating clearance between cam lobes, enabling higher cam lifts than are possible with the loosely fit stock chain drive.
- Material must be removed from the inner surface of the stock gear cover for installation.
- S&S recommends using an adjustable pushrod and cover kit.
- Cam bearings and gaskets must be replaced when installing new cams.
- Lower loft allows these cams to be bolted into 96–106 ci '06 engines with stock valve springs.
- Strongest from 1000–4500 rpm.
- 180 psi cranking compression; no need for compression releases.
- A hydraulic press and other professional tools are required for installation.
- Kit includes cams, inner and outer gears, inner and outer bearings, gaskets and instructions.
- Installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance and valve-to-piston clearance.
- Due to inherent characteristics of gear drives, you may experience increased valve train noise.
- Made in the USA. Not for '06 Dyna.
