Installation and use notes:

• When installing on certain XL models from '86–'15, modifying or spacing the chain/belt guard may be necessary for clearance.
• A shock slightly longer than stock can alter head angle for somewhat quicker steering; a slightly shorter shock can produce somewhat slower steering.
• For heavy-duty applications—bikes operated near the manufacturer's maximum load rating over 50% of the time—choose accordingly.
• Before purchasing or installing shocks with a different length than OEM, confirm wheel travel and check for potential clearance issues (swingarm/axle to exhaust, chain/belt guard, tire contact).
