The billet vented dipstick breathes excessive crankcase pressure from the oil tank through a PCV-style breather with an oil separator, perforated disc, replaceable filter element and umbrella flapper valve. Testing shows reduced sump oil loss, smoother revving and improved mpg.
It screws into the factory oil fill spout as a direct replacement. There are two ways to read the oil level: with the bike on the jiffy stand (FHS) Full Hot Stand or upright and level (FHU) Full Hot Upright. Feuling recommends running the hot oil level 90%–99% full.
The dipstick removes unwanted blowby build-up and includes two venting options: a 1/8 NPT breather with internal porous filter or a quick-disconnect coupler with hose and filter. Letting the bike idle on the kickstand can skew oil level since the oil pick up port is on the right side of the engine. This dipstick does get hot; use a glove when checking oil level.
